Why I'm Running

Pamela A. Van Blunk, Esq. is a dedicated public servant, accomplished attorney, and proven leader committed to protecting Bucks County taxpayers. Elected as Bucks County Controller in 2021, Pam has built a strong record of fiscal accountability, transparency, and nonpartisan oversight. Since taking office, she has prioritized fraud, waste, and abusive efforts and stopped more than $2 million in fraudulent claims, ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent legally.

Pam’s commitment to giving back to Bucks County residents is evident through her Unclaimed Funds Program, which has returned more than $730,000 to individuals, small businesses, municipalities, and nonprofits across the county. Her efforts exemplify the kind of honest, transparent governance that Bucks County residents deserve.

Pam is a true independent watchdog, holding the government accountable regardless of political affiliation.

Before her time as Controller, Pam built a successful career as a litigation attorney and small business owner. Her legal expertise is invaluable in her role, as the Controller must review contracts, payroll, and county expenditures while also having the authority to issue subpoenas, collect evidence, and take testimony under oath. Historically, the Controller has been an attorney due to the complex legal and financial responsibilities of the position—Pam’s background makes her uniquely qualified for the job.

Her professional accomplishments include serving as Chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Civil Litigation Section (2021-2022) and the Bucks County Bar Association’s Solo and Small Practice Section. She co-founded a local Bar Association’s Women in the Law Section (2016) and was its first Chair in 2021. Pam has been recognized for her leadership and excellence in law, receiving the Legal Intelligencer’s Distinguished Leader Award (2018) and being voted a Super Lawyer in Pennsylvania (2020, 2021, and 2022)—an honor reserved for the top 5% of attorneys in the state.

Pam understands firsthand what it means to work for every dollar. She put herself through law school as a single mother of three, graduating cum laude from Widener University’s Delaware Law School while raising her children. She earned her B.S. from Rutgers University and has always prioritized service to her community.

As Bucks County’s independent fiscal watchdog, I will ensure transparency and that every taxpayer dollar is spent legally.

Her deep roots in Bucks County are reflected in her years of local involvement, including serving on the Lower Makefield Township Zoning Hearing Board, the Bucks County YWCA Board of Directors, and co-creating Falls Township’s National Night Out event, which earned her the PA Governor’s Award for Crime Prevention.

Now residing in Doylestown Township with her husband, Hank, Pam Van Blunk is the leader Bucks County needs—an independent, experienced, and results-driven Controller who fights daily to protect your tax dollars.
